Hello
I am seated in my new room, at my old desk, in my new apartment. I can see Century City's office buildings, as well as the last lights of families preparing to go to bed in nearby Cheviot Hills. I could see the Hollywood Sign if it was a daytime, clear and if I craned my neck awkwardly, but it's much too late for that now.
Since I last wrote I've been busy doing a couple things: working, hanging out, and not doing any of the stuff that I feel like I should be doing outside of work. All this will hopefully change though, seeing as it is a new year and my gut biome is cleansed and functioning.
Resolution 1: Do the stuff that I want to do that isn't hanging out
I'm really good at hanging out and going outside. These are some of my greatest pleasures. I do them all the time.
Unfortunately, there is other stuff I also want to do that requires forsaking the hang out and staying inside. The things I want to do are: blog, read books, read magazines, and maybe do some longer form writing.
So really, my first resolution is to blog, read books, read magazines, and maybe do some longer form writing. Perhaps I will write a story.
Resolution 2: Wear my sunglasses inside more
My sunglasses blog got a lot of love when I put it out, which I felt very positively about. Perhaps as a result of that, I've since acquired two pairs of sunglasses that I feel strongly about. I feel so strongly about them that I've decided I should throw precaution to the wind and simply wear my sunglasses inside more. I'm in LA now, anyway, so it's pretty standard behavior.
I started practicing for this resolution in December on my return flight from London. I had chucked the wayfarers on before they even turned the seatbelt light off to begin deplaning. Sort of a "Getting Hollywood," thing, except I was sitting in coach.
...
And those are my resolutions. Short and sweet, just the way Newyearsclaus dreamed it up.
I suppose I have some other resolutions, but they are far less interesting. Just the basics like "do well at my job," and "dial in the summer body." Nothing extraordinary or worth writing even one sentence about.
Okay. Hello 2025.
Bye
